What is one of Darnays problems?

He was charged as a spy. That would have scared the heck out of me. The penalty would have been the guillotine and the French seemed to enjoy that sort of thing back then. I would have told Darnay to run to England or some unexplored corner of the world. Yes, that's rather cowardly but they could not find enough buckets in Paris to hold those heads!
