What were the character actions of Mr. and Mrs. Fisher that gave you a final impression of them?

I think that finding out that they purposely withheld information from Paul says a lot about them. They did not tell Paul that his brother Erik purposely blinded him when he was a small child. They lied by telling Paul that he stared at the sun. Both Mr. Fisher and Mrs. Fischer wanted to protect their sociopathic son from any consequences rather than considering Paul's welfare. This speaks volumes about the parent's values and priorities.
