Who are some of the antagonist in the book?

There is a very oppressive tone and atmosphere to this book. There are many antagonists that directly or indirectly affect Paul. The biggest antagonist would be Erik Fisher, Paul's sociopathic brother. Erik purposely blinds Paul as a child. He continues his abhorrent behavior throughout the story with the tacit support of his parents. Arthur Bauer is Erik's sidekick that takes part in many of the cruel things Erik does to people.
