Is Tess a pure woman or a fallen woman?

I could view tess as a pure women. She did not cower and hide after waht alec did in the woods to her. She survived when angel left to go to brazil right after thier wedding when he did not want to have anything to do with her becasue of Alec. She is a survivor all the way do til she was excuted for murdering alec.
