The main conflict iin Chapter Seven can be found in the changing relationship between Byron and Mark. Byron's interests are ever widening.... he's got new friends, he has fallen for Cathy, and he has a new job. Mark, however, continues to care about only one thing, and that is Byron. These things put the boys in direct conflict, something that effects their friendship, as well as the people around them.
