I think Rowdy and Junior will always be friends. The fact that Junior is going to move on with his life, get an education, and work toward a better life than he had on the reservation doesn't change their friendship.... it changes their locations. Everyone has at least one childhood friend they keep in contact with.... Rowdy and Junior are that friend for each other.
