How and why have Junior’s relationships with Reardan students and staff members changed since the beginning of the novel?

As the book progresses, Junior earns the respect of both teachers and students at Reardan. Junior does this by simply being himself. He stands up for himself while showing great empathy for people. Most people at Reardan see in Junior what the reader sees in Junior: a unique, strong, and likable individual.
