What happens at try-outs? Why does Junior get in?

The coach pairs with the "goliath" Roger. The play one-on-one and Roger is just too big and strong. Still, junior refuses to give up. He forges past Roger like a football player and makes the shot. Coach thinks Junior has as well as a good jump shot, so he gives Junior a spot on the varsity team.
