Why is the chapter titled The Black Eye of the Month Club?

The chapter is entitled, The Black Eye of the Month Club" because that is the group that Junior sees himself as belonging to. At least once a month, he is beat up by the other boys on the reservation, which usually leaves him with a black eye. Junior is a member of the group of kids that he terms "retards", who are picked on regularly.
