Explain Jim's willingness to go along with Tom's foolishness

This chapter is actually quite funny........ Jim goes along with Tom's foolishness because he is naive....... and because both he and Huck believe Tom to be the end all be all. They look up to Tom, and they trust him...... period. But you have to admit, the entire escape is extremely humorous.
