Unlike Tom, Sid is studious, always on time, and goes out of his way to stay out of trouble.
Tom hates school (except for Becky), is perpetually in trouble, and is late for everything.

Tom is an adventurous person and prefers to spend most of his days outside house whereas Sid thinks adventures are waste of time and a perfect way to get in trouble, he prefers to be indoors and study. He created a good image of himself towards his aunt Polly by listening to whatever she says. If we move on to Tom now, his eccentric way of living his life built up his image as a boy who does not listen to his aunt. This shows Tom is different from his brother and their personalities does not match with each other,
