In the book tom sawyer how does tom use the information he learned on his trip home?

I'm not sure what information you are referring to. He doesn't learn anything new before he gets to the house. It is there that he hears Aunt Polly "making broken-hearted ejaculations" in her sleep, sobbing for "her Tom," and asking for forgiveness for every licking and scolding. He then decides not to give Aunt Polly the letter.
