Explain the purpose of the chun tzu?

The purpose of chun tzu, the ideal man, was to reform and improve society.... a man who would embrace morality and knowledge.... a man who would act rationally in opposition to the violent, warring period, in which, Confucius lived. Confucius believed that men must learn and live by the principle “sageliness within; kingliness without.”
