The Bacchae
2. Do Euripides's sympathies lie with either Dionysus or Pentheus? Does he articulate a clear moral position in the play?

There is a deffinite split between the God and the mortal, there is also a split in how Euripides judges the both. There are really two Dionysus, the calm fun one and the dark punishing one. While Pentheus is weary of the chaos of Dionysus, Euripides's opinion seems to strike balance. Dionysus is okay ( so we can party after all!)as long as wisdom rules and tempers the chaos.
