The Battle of Algiers
What is El-hardi Jaffar’s test for Ali La Pointe? Do you think that it’s fair and justifiable or really risky? Why?
.
.
La Pointe was instructed to kill Mathieu Beauregard, a policeman, who often stopped at a Moorish cafe to meet with its owner Awrib Merabi (an informant). There was a woman at the cafe who gave La Pointe a gun, with which, he was to kill Beauregard. The gun, however, wasn't loaded, and he was forced to beat the policeman up and flee with the woman who brought him the gun. The woman then took La Pointe to her boss, El-Hadi Jaffar, who told him that it was a test to see if he worked for the police.
The second part of your question calls for your opinion, there is no right or wrong answer.
