Explain the significance of Taylor’s now turtles T-shirt.

The shirt is in its own way a symbol of confidence and belonging. For Taylor, is was a gift and symbol of her mother's people..... her heritage. When she sees it on Turtle she thinks of the many strides Turtle is making... again confidence. In context, she is looking at the shirt and thinking that Lou Ann could use some of what it implies...... self-confidence.
