"Head Rights," refer to the Cherokee heritage and the ability to take part in the tribe. According to Taylor's mother, 1/8 or more of Cherokee blood guaranteed you a place in the Cherokee Nation. The child's heritage was Native American....... thus, Taylor was entering a Native American territory.

As far as the t-shirt, Taylor used this particular t-shirt because it was too small on her, and the fact was...... the child needed something clean. Taylor notes the colors were perfect, as they were "Indian colors."
