A lawyer and a banker are at a dinner party. There is debate about prison vs the death penalty. The banker argues that capital punishment is more humane thana life of solitary imprisonment. The lawyer, on the other hand, thinks that he would choose life in prison rather than death. They agree to a bet of two million rubles that the lawyer cannot withstand fifteen years of solitary confinement.
