When the child they wish for appears on the roadside, she is everything the Count and Countess wished for...... she has white skin, a red mouth, and black hair.
"I wish I had a girl as white as snow."
"I wish I had a girl as red as blood."
"I wish I had a girl as black as that bird's feather."
