Discuss Liesel’s friendship with Rudy. Does she love him in the way he loves her, or is it just child’s love?

Liesel and Rudy are both kids..... Rudy definitely sees Liesel in a romantic light, and she is still young enough to think he is crazy and be embarrassed by it. They have a close bond, none-the-less, and after Rudy's death, we see that Liesel may have seen Rudy in a different way after all.
