The Book Thief
Do you think Liesel’s hostility toward Ludwig Schmeikl was justified? In your opinion, what was the primary cause of her attack?

Book Thief Question. Thanks!
Liesel's primary reason for beating Ludwig up was the fact he hurt her pride. She was embarrassed because he pointed out the truth.... hurt and shamed..... she reacted somewhat violently. None-the-less, there's a lot more behind her attack than hurt feelings. She's lost everything, she's in a new home, her family is gone.... and people are teasing her. She was bound to react sometime, Ludwig was simply the straw that broke the camel's back.
