Is hans Jr. A member of the Nazi party? How do you know?

Hans Jr. is portrayed as a strong member of the Nazi party and he argues seriously with his father about the fact that Hans does not support the Nazi party. Hans Jr. suggests that his father join the Nazi party which Hans does only when he feels it might help the family and protect them from some discrimination by the Nazis.
