The book theif

Zusak uses style in many ways. He, for example, makes an announcement like a newspaper headline. What is interesting is not necessarily what happens but how it happens. He gives color to Liesel's story. The boldfaced headings give us a sense of what is happening but Zusak's figurative language fills the reader with context and texture.
