Again stealing is wrong. Liesel had other options and she chose to steal. She deserved her punishment, and she should have told Rosa the truth immediately. Instead, she first attempted to blame one of her customers. Rosa's beating was harsh to be sure, and after realizing what had truly happened, she felt guilty and saddened over her actions. None-the-less, Liesel should have been upfront with the woman who was caring for her.
