Was Rudy 11 in the movie or the book when he met 9 year old Liesel? Because I thought that both of them were 9 years old in both the book and movie when they met.

I'm just confused on this because in another question someone said that Rudy was 11 years old when he met 9 year old Liesel but was he 11 in the book or the movie? Because I thought in both the book and movie they were 9.
