What are some effective stylistic techniques Markus Zusak used ​​​​in this novel

Death is certainly a unique choice of narrator. Zusak uses bold face type to relay certain bits of information to us. I find it rather annoying but hey it's Death so he can do what he wants.

Death also has a penchant for foreshadowing or simply telling us what is going to happen,

"Of course I'm being rude. I'm spoiling the ending. I don't have much interest in building mystery. Mystery bores me. It chores me. I know what happens and so do you. It's the machinations that wheel us there that aggravate, perplex, interest, and astound me...."
