WHAT DO THE BOOKS MEAN TO LIESEL?

Liesel's love of books begins with a momento and end with the power of knowledge and the ability to communicate. The first book she stole was mere;y a momento of her brother, but as time went on and Hans taught her to read, she also broadened her reading, which led to understanding. In the end she receives a blank book as a gift........... it's meant for her to move on from reading the words of others, to writing her own.
