what is one way mama expresses her love?

We don't really know too much about Liesel's mother and father. We do know that Liesel's father spoke out against the Nazis; he supported the Communists and was killed. Mother must have been an incredibly caring person to give up her kids to a foster home and run away to save them. Despite Liesel's brother dying on the journey, Liesel's mother loved her enough to keep it together long enough to bring Liesel to safety.
