What is the main problem leisel faces

Liesel's main problem (for her) is acquiring books and the skills to read. Hans teaches her to read, but he himself has an education that we maight consider lower than middle school. She lives in a hard time, and goes through many traumatic changes; she loses everthing and everyone she loves, but as long as she has her books she'll get by. No matter that she takes her life into her hands or that she takes the risk of exposing Max or her foster family for what they're doing.
