Why do you think the author chose third-person narrative point of view? is this narrator objective or opinionated? Are the narrator's frequent comments thought-provoking or intrusive?

Zusak wanted a narrator who could provide not only Liesel's point of view, but someone who could provide background information and setting details as well. As far an objective viewpoint, Death seems to waiver to and fro. He's definitely weary of the tragedies; we also see him as tired and almost defeated. I do not see intrusiveness in the narration. Our own thoughts are certainly meant to be provoked.
