The Book Thief
Why does liesel refuse to bathe after losing her brother and mother, and then again after loosing everybody on Hummel street?
Doesn't bathe
Doesn't bathe
Liesel refuses to bathe because bathing means that she’d have to leave behind the physical evidence that she once had a home and that Himmel Street was once a real place. Losing the places and the moments would be like losing the people she loved again, it would be like they hadn't existed.
