In what way does Bruno want to resemble his father and how does Shmuel react when he finds out?

Bruno tells Shmuel he wants to be a soldier when he grows up, a "good soldier" like Father, but Shmuel tells him there aren't any good soldiers (140). Bruno likes the authority his father has over other soldiers and the respect he is given. Shmuel only knows that soldiers, especially German ones, only cause pain.
