Difference between farm and city boys?

The city boys were educated and "dressed neatly in woolen slacks and cardigan sweaters." The farm boys were laborers, who'd "built up srong arms and broad shoulders." Bolles needed young men from each of these groups, "keen intelligence was just as important as brute strength."
