Canterbury Tales- the Plowman

Chaucer saw the Plowman as a symbol of the hard working poor. He is virtuous and never complains about doing the dirtiest of jobs.

The plowman is the brother of the country parson and is a good steward of the land. He is just a good guy, not like those who try to take advantage of anyone such as we see as the Friar and and the other religious people who care nothing about the people they serve.
