Prologue to the Canterbury Tales
Women characterisation
Women characterisation
The women are each depicted quite differently. For example, the prioress is emotional, weepy and boasts a delicate constitution. Whereas, the Wife of Bath is a loud, successful, independant woman, who, none-the-less, wishes for male companionship and fulfills this desire with multiple husbands (five to date). She was a woman before her time. The second nun, however, is hard working and devout in her faith.
