What are examples of two different kinds of irony used by Chaucer?

One irony is the irony of the preacher whose seeming holiness is just a mask to hide his greed and trickery. His voice convinces his congregation he is special but the truth is that that talent is being used to make them offer money to his relics. Another irony is that he ACTUALLY improves people through his trickery. They give in to his ruse and offer money, but his tale shows that they are actually made happier through the fakery. Its all a mess of irony, thereby a comment on religion itself.
