Add YoursBuddha can be a symbol in the play THE CARETAKER . It symbolizes DAVIES , one of the majpor characters of the play , as Aston picked it up for himself because he felt some affection of it with himself . SO, in the play it (BUDDHA) symbolizes DAVIES that he is also picked by Aston as a ''CARETAKER" for his house . We observe in the play that aston takes much care of DAVIES maybe because he also feels some affection with DAVIES too..
symbolism in tge cartaker ?
A motif/symbol would be the bucket that has been introduced since the beginning of the play (Mick and the bucket), in another instance which is when Mick, Davies, and Aston all look up to the bucket. This could possibly represent the characters' desire to suppress their emotions and mental states onto external and tangible objects, in this case, the bucket.
