The Singer from the Prologue begins the story of the Chalk Circle. This narrator is responsible for conveying more dramatic scenes in song or the poetic word. The narrator helps create pathos and meaning to the audience. The narrator, much like a chorus, guides the audience through the many layers of meaning in the play.
