Cossack uprising in 1648 and impact of the jews
The Cossack Uprising of 1648 was enacted by the Cossacks and peasants, who revolted against Polish rule. As a result of the rebellion, many Jewish communities were destroyed (700) and 100,000 Jews were killed. The rebellion lasted ten years.
