Why does Richie stop going to Sunday school?

Richard didn't like Rev. Owens answer to what color Jesus was.... he saw a picture depicting Jesus and noted the color wasn't right... that Jesus should be white or black.... that if his likeness were going to be depicted, Jesus should be grey. He never returned to Sunday School after this discussion.
