women in a patriarcle society

HELP! I have to compare this novel to the Handmaids tale for my A2 coursework and my focus question is on the role of women and feminism within a patriacle society. Ive got a few points but its not enough according to my teacher. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks xxxx

for a start it's spelled "patriarchal" :)

uhmm that's a hard question ... I guess you already have stuff about the domestic violence and everything, but for a kind of antithesis to that, do you have anything about Sofia and Shug as women who reject patriarchy, in different ways ?
