Chapter 70-71, Abridged version.
I don't think that, in the end, all that revenge brings the Count the peace he his looking for. Monte Cristo is also given a second chance at happiness with Haydee. This is more satisfying than his revenge. It is significant that this last chapter ends on the Isle of Monte Cristo. It symbolizes and marks the end of the Count's journey of vengeance.
