Danforth says that, in most legal cases, eye witnesses are enough to testify against the accused. In the case of witchcraft the perpetrator may not be seen hence there is no witness. A witch can send his or her spirit out. The court must hence be vigilant in the case of witchcraft. THey have to go on the word of the victims.
