The Crucible
how do you feel about the outcome of the play?

I need others opinions.
I think the outcome of the play complemented the themes that Arthur Miller set out to present. The hysteria over witches was used by people in the village as well as the witch court to promote their own interests and agendas. The trials and executions come at the expense of the more honest people of the village. Proctor's last cries of agony, "all I have is my name", sums up the idea that truth and "righteousness cannot be found in the church, community, or court at that time; it must be found from within.
