Yup, there are way too many questions here! You really need to read the play or at the very least look at this site which will break down everything for you. I picked a question from your list that outlines the hypocrisy and insanity of the proceedings in Salem.

3. Explain the ironic ultimatum the head of the court has given to those who have been arrested?

The court wishes people to confess their witchcraft. If they confess, they will be spared. They might even get to go to some "holy rehab." clinic and carry on with their life. If they didn't confess, they would be killed. Now there were really no "witches" in Salem but the choice to confess seemed the best way out. This ultimatum validated the courts, judges, witch hunters.....existence. It ensured the paranoia that kept them in business.
