The Crucible

The poppet is a doll so any similarities would have to be metaphorical. Abigail will use the doll to get at Elizabeth Proctor. One could say that Abigail uses people like she uses the doll.

I believe a metaphorical response to this would be upon the effect of Elizabeth. The poppet was planted into Elizabeth's life as a mostly inconspicious object. Abagail became her servant in the same way, and they brought her to unfortunete circumstances. In other words, they both looked harmless at the start but both turned out to be extremely dangerous (one physically and the other not as much physical as causing bad situations)
