Why does Proctor avoid church and sometimes plow his fields on Sunday?
Proctor sometimes plows his fields on Sunday because he's had bad harvests and has children to feed.
As for church, Proctor isn't a fan of Reverend Parris but feels that is not a just cause for people to question his belief in God.
Proctor: I - I have no love for Mr. Parris. It is no secret. But God I surely love.
