There are a number of internal conflicts in this act. What are they? How do these add more tension and suspense to the scene, as opposed to the external conflicts revealed in this and prior acts?

Certainly John Proctor's infidelity is catching up with his conscience. He knows he has hurt Elizabeth and muddied his honour and his name. Marry Warren knows her charade is hurting innocent people but her fear of Abigail proves to be great. She is conflicted about what to do. I think Rev. Hale is also discovering that the court he serves is a sham. Innocent people are going to their deaths and he has unwittingly played a part in it.
