What has John Proctor learned about himself by the end of act 2? what have you learned about him?

By the end of Act II, we have learned that Proctor is proud, an adulterer, not so happily married, and immensely angry because of his guilt.

Proctor, of course, hasn't learned all of these things. He hasn't come to understand that his pride and anger keep his marriage in disarray. He believes he conveys authority in his home, but he cannot convey that authority because his wife no longer respects him. Proctor also comes to learn that although Abigail may no longer be his lover...... she continues to stand as a barrier between he and his wife. She is purposeful in that she wants to destroy his marriage in whatever way necessary.
