who is rebecca nurse?

Rebecca is a wonderful elderly lady who has delivered a lot of babies, including the Putnams' children who later died. Mrs. Putnam in the hysteria blames Rebecca for somehow witching her babies to death. She also refuses to incriminate anyone and is hanged.
